Well-known actress and personality Nadia Montenegro has once again made headlines on social media, but this time, it’s not about her projects or showbiz successes. A controversial incident erupted when Nadia reacted to a fan’s post that made a statement about her relationship with Ate Guy, the late Superstar Nora Aunor, and her experiences as her caregiver.

A fan of Ate Guy shared her thoughts online, where she said that she was one of the caregivers of Nora Aunor in the past years. According to the fan, she had some unpleasant experiences in interacting with Nadia Montenegro, which caused her anger and disappointment. In her statement, the fan listed some of Nadia’s alleged bad habits and their misunderstandings in the past.

The fan commented that despite being her caregiver and being close to Ate Guy, it seems that she has not experienced proper appreciation from Nadia, who also said that there were times when she experienced insults. According to her, these statements caused her frustration and she wanted to correct the misconception about Nadia.

Nadia did not miss this statement and immediately gave a response. On her social media account, Nadia did not mince words and admitted that some of their interactions were not good. However, Nadia revealed that there were aspects of their relationship that were not discussed properly. She chose to respond to the fan’s allegations and said that there are things that should not be made public and this is an opportunity that could have been resolved more privately.

“If there were misunderstandings, I wish they had been discussed more properly. These things do not need to be a public spectacle,” said Nadia. She also said that there are aspects of her relationship with Ate Guy that do not need to be appreciated or made a public issue, and should have been discussed privately.

Despite the allegations, Nadia also shared some revelations about her relationship with Nora Aunor. According to Nadia, there were times when she did not experience respect from Ate Guy and there were misunderstandings in their relationship. Nadia said that although there were good memories, not all aspects of their relationship were easy and full of joy. There were times when they allegedly had arguments and misunderstandings, but in the end, they also had a chance to make up.

“Nora Aunor is a legend, and I will forever respect her for her contributions to the industry. But, like any other relationship, we also have our ups and downs,” Nadia added.

Nadia’s post immediately went viral and it caused various reactions from fans and netizens. Some supported Nadia, saying that it is natural to have misunderstandings, especially when people come together under the intense pressure of showbiz. According to them, such things should not be made a big issue and they should just focus on the good things that happened in their relationship.

However, there are also netizens who are not in favor of Nadia’s statement, saying that she should have not pursued the issue further and showed her respect for Ate Guy and the people who helped her. According to them, spreading such controversies can only cause division among the fans of these iconic personalities.

This incident shows the complications that come with being a public figure, especially when personal issues become part of the wider discourse on social media. While there are times when such issues cause tension, it can also serve as a reminder that relationships, be they with family, friends, or coworkers, are full of trials and tribulations and perfect understanding is not always achieved.

What matters most is how it is addressed with respect, and how each person chooses to value the people around them, and ultimately, work together to maintain a healthy relationship.

Nadia Montenegro looks back on dark times in her life
“I’m not strong. I’m not good.”

This is one of the realizations of actress Nadia Montenegro when she looked back on some of the darkest parts of her life, including the point where she almost killed her children.

In an interview on Ogie Diaz’s vlog, Montenegro shared the hardships of being a single mother to her eight children.

At first, she thought she was strong enough to handle the trials of life alone. But when her partner Boy Asistio passed away, the actress realized that her strength came from others. “The strong and good are the ones above who gave me all the strength. Because when people ask me how I did it, I don’t know. All I know is, I held on to him,” she said.

But even before Asistio was lost to their family, Montenegro’s resilience was tested when she clashed with former actress and talent manager Annabelle Rama, which even led to a lawsuit.

She said that these were the times when she wanted to give up on life because of the layers of humiliation and belittling she experienced during the height of the issue.

“I wanted to give up. Maybe my biggest battle was in court, 8 years ago. Because one day I woke up, how could this be? It was so painful, so humiliating. So much belittling on social media, on TV, in the news, wherever you go. Everything that can be called a woman has been called to me,” she recalled.

Montenegro admitted that she reached the point where she wanted to end her and her daughter’s lives.

Fortunately, she thought about going to America first to stop herself from doing bad things.

“When it got to that point, I talked to my pastor. I had to leave the country. I didn’t want to. Because if I didn’t, I wouldn’t be a mother,” she said.

Her trip abroad paid off because she reportedly got closer to God there.

After a few weeks in America, she realized that she was ready to forgive, so when she returned to the Philippines, she told her lawyers to stop the court battle.

“I learned to forgive and that was the best gift I ever gave myself — surrendering my life to the Lord and learning to forgive and forgive myself,” Montenegro said.

“After that happened, I remember very well, the Lord took my eight children. That’s where I learned about life.”

It can be recalled that her fight with Rama began in 2011 when she accused him of forcing her children, Ynna and Alyanna Asistio, to work more than 40 hours. Rama was then the talent manager of his two children.
